Recently I was asked how I was feeling about the economy going forward into 2009. For some people, the pain of this financial paradigm shift cannot be over-stated, but I am very optimistic about the New Year. I believe we are in a shake-out period, shaking out and exposing the old, moldy money mind set. I admit I had to laugh when the three auto industry CEO's arrived in their corporate jets asking for money. I noticed that it took national exposure to get them to change their ways. The important thing is that their money attitude was exposed, and hopefully they have changed not only their method of transportation, but their thinking processes as well.
A Time to Reflect
For long time readers of Wallet Wisdom, this article may seem familiar. I run it every year, much to the delight of many people. Its Wallet Wisdom is still appropriately wise this year.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle unfolding all around you, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or pangs of starvation ---You are ahead of 500 million people.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of persecution, harassment, arrest, torture or death ----You are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you can read this message, you have just received a double blessing in that someone is thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than ---over 2 billion people in the world who cannot read.
